I've been coming here since the 80's and bring my family several times a year from Dallas. That's a 6 1/2 hour drive so it's definitely worth that type of investment on time and money money. So please don't judge this place on this girls comments alone. You will find one of the most pristine places on the river and the friendliest families who open their property up to the public for others to enjoy this special place.

2. They are most definitely NOT meth heads.

I have been here multiply times and I live in Chicago it's awhile drive but don't listen to Mindy this is an amazing place to be with friends and family. You can enjoy yourself in or out of the water. Don't judge something on someone ELSE'S opinion all that matters is your opinion.

5. They don't treat others different because they aren't from "there". We meet people from several different states each time we are there.

7. They don't put up with fighting or cussing or white trash activity because they want and demand a family atmosphere. That's not to say your not allowed to have a good time but fighting, drug use and reckless drinking is not tolerated and we are very thankful for that.

10. They always have firewood, ice and electrity sites available.

8. It's very inexpensive.

12. It is the most special place on that river.

3. She (Jeannie) is not a drunk, nor is Mike and they don't live in a shack.

11. If you come here and act a fool, start fights, cuss and yell then expect to be kicked out.

6. We're from Dallas and they have always treated us like family.

Idk

4. The bathrooms are very clean (for a rugged campsite far from civilization) Mike cleans them every morning. They are on a trailer and that is too move them by vehicle before the floods sweep them away. I, for one, am very thankful for those bathrooms.

Beautiful area! But the owners have a problem with being "in control". My sister and her boyfriend got kicked at because her boyfriend was starting a fight (which he should have, COMPLETELY AGREE!) I was helping them packed their stuff up after being gone to the bathroom when the fight started (wasn't even there when the fight started). The female "owner" was mouthing my sister and my sister was mouthing her back, don't know who started it because I was gone IN THE BATHROOM, WASNT AROUND WHEN IT HAPPENED!! And because I told the female "owners" friends that were talking smack loud enough to be antagonistic, I said something because all it was doing was FUELING THE FIRE, DUHHH!!! I told them they needed to mind their own business because they were being ANTAGONISTIC!!!!! And I wasn't even the one they were fighting with and it was causing chaos with me, go figure! Well because she was disrespectful to me I said some disrespectful things back that apparently hurt her feelings and pride because she said "you can get the hell out too". I walked back to MY picnic area, its government owned, and sat down! The owner continued to follow me as I'm saying "I don't want any trouble, I'm walking away. Yall see this, I'm trying to get away from her." All I was doing was MEDIATING!!! And I got kicked out. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back here. They are not friendly with people that aren't necessarily from that area, that don't blend in to their type of people. Worst experience EVER!!! I've never been kick out of anything before! She got on her high horse and alcohol fueled rage, after mouthing me when she walked away, her husband had to hold her up because she was so drunk, and thought just because she owned the campsite, she could treat and talk to people however she wanted and they just don't say anything back, that's crazy in straight form, Craziness! Needless to say after her kicking me out for not taking smack from her, I was straight mean back. It's common sense crazy's, it get respect you have to give it! And I did NOTHING WRONG, just stood up for myself and actually still respected you because any other woman coming "buffed up" at me, would've gotten more than some "hurtful" words. Big girl panties please! If you dish it, shouldn't you be able to take it? Right? Worst experience EVER! Don't go there unless you're prepared to get treated like crap! All it is is some meth heads that "own" it and they live out of a shack. The bathrooms are awful and nasty and do not look like they've been cleaned in months! I'm sure this will be taken down because the "owners" don't want people to know what they did but that'll just go to show you how they really are!

Been our family's friend for many years now. Absolutely a beautiful place to take your family camping, swimming & fishing!!!

This Mandy girl on the comment below me has no clue what she's talking about. Please don't judge this campsite on her comments alone.
